I use the RK 520 EXW because I like the look of the seals compared to the DID

Doesn't the EXW use a Riveted Master Link? If so what do you use to install the Rivet Master Link?
Sorry for the dumb question, I have never owned a bike that needed a tuff chain before.

Great articles, I think my problem with my chain wearing out so quick, might have been operator error with me cleaning it with the 15Amp Karcher Pressure Cleaner
Think the factory chain was an O-Ring or X-Ring or some bloody ring

who was it said there are no stupid questions only stupid answers?

the ones I get come with a clip master link

to peen a link without "the proper tool" all you need is a heavy backing plate one side (10kgs steel or so, I use a 32mm diam solid steel bar about 3 foot long) and a small ball hammer, get someone to hold the steel up against one side of the link, through the spokes when its on the rear sprocket and peen the rivets over on teh otehr side.

on the pre 09 bergs you have to put the peens or the links on the left hand side of the chain or it gets worn away by the frame.

I installed the following on my 2010 Husaberg FE 390 and have been *very* happy with the results:

== TM Designs Factory 2 "Slip-n-GLide" Kit (chain guide, swingarm buffer, lower guide pad)
== Dirt Tricks "Ironman" 52T sprocket
== DID 520 VT2 x-ring chain (riveted, no master link)

I did the big "gulp!" and bought the DID KM500 Chain Tool for properly breaking, installing, and riveting DID chains. Expensive -- but it works so well!

I'm now at 2100 miles and rear sprocket and chain look great. Countershaft sprocket is looking tired so am replacing it with Dirt Tricks 13T "tool-steel" countershaft sprocket. That should take me out past the 4000-4500 mile mark.

Cheers! E-Ticket
