Many of you know that Jeremy Wilkey is a client (and friend) of mine, so this review might be a bit slanted, yet I am going to try to be objective. I also don't want Bobzilla to feel bad if I had the suspension retuned, it was indeed necessary from what I heard (it's supposed to be done every year, if you're serious, anyway).
First of, Jer went the extra mile as I did for him, so when he worked on my bike he made sure to implement the latest of his technology in this suspension. He also added a set of Enzo sub tanks, which I really do not require that much, being a C rider and not exactly a racer, but it's still nice to have.
I made sure to hit some bad whoops and rocks at a good speed, something that would have thrown me OTB with the previous setup (and it indeed did, see avatar). The rear suspension is simply amazing. I expected at least to be kick up in the hiney or to see my feet take off from the pegs, but nothing.
No loss of control at all. The bike never lost focus. Very very smooth reaction. It is also very reactive as I managed to take little jumps off of mini-bumps with just a little impulsion. I am quasi-certain I would not have got hurt 8 months ago with this setup.
As for the front, I can't tell I really like the subtanks, I don't hate them. I did not really take any big jump to be sure they help. As for the rest, I was very satisfied with the handling of the bike. Wilkey has a tendency to put strong springs than advised by the manufacturer or most other tuners. I got .48s in the front. No oversteering, no understeering, it's pretty similar but is about 10% nicer to ride with.
The test ride, my first since I broke my arm 8 months ago, was done on quad trails followed by some semi-technical single-tracks (Pima and Dynamite in Scottsdale, as in day 3 of the AZ rides).
