not so much a race report as a test of my new compact camera.
from the results i could do with a bit more practice. the results can be seen in my gallery.
anyway the race was a 3 hr h&h in mid wales.
its a regular event that doesn't change much,runs in just about all weathers and attracts entires from all over. i've personally rode it about 6 times.
it has tight tree lined tracks combined with some flat out straights which makes it quite nice to hoon around.
this year a number of top riders entered including tom sagar who has been picked up by ktm to ride the junior wec.
needless to say he walked away with it having a 6.5 minute lead over 2nd with two laps to go and just cruising around.
from the moment the riders went off to the finish, 3 hrs later, it rained almost continually.
i was there helping a friend, trefor davies.
having lead the open 4st class from the word go he had his only crash of the day on the 2nd to last lap. loosing his front mudguard.
he held off riders behind him until halfway round the last lap when due to mud being thrown up he was passed and dropped back to third.
whilst this was happening i was waiting at the finish wondering where the hell he was as i could see that his lap time had dropped dramatically.
