Or so does the reputation on reliability.

Went to my local KTM dealer today to buy an oil filter for my FE450 (same as KTM).
Got chating with the owner and how KTM are restructuring the distribution of Husabergs in the UK. I ask if he was thinking of taking on Husabergs. No way was the reply, unreliable and too much hassle. That may have been the case in the past but not now said I. He said he still wouldn`t look at them even after he said he saw them getting built on the same line as KTM`s and the quality was just as good.
So how do we change peoples minds.

I telephoned KTM UK to find out were my nearest dealer is as NTB no longer sell `Bergs who were 100 miles away. Preston is now the nearest 120 miles away. I asked if any KTM dealers in my area are considering taking on Husabergs. They said Husabergs had nothing to do with KTM  must have got the company idiot.

it's going to be hard work but you gotta start whatever journey you take with the same first step!

Good old Malcom Smith sells KTM and the Jap/Chinese bikes. He droped Husaberg and almost Huskys. Now his business won't touch old Huskys yet his pictures are all over the walls in his new building riding on what made him famous.Back when he was racing he was on a 8 or 9 speed Husky I am sure everyone could get one of those. So money yells!

Hi Muckybilly,

If KTM holds the majority from the shares of your national-distributor you won´t find a single KTM-Dealer switching over too Husaberg
as KTM took over the distribution in the UK...

It´s part of KTM´s business-strategie, that NO KTM-Dealer is allowed to sell Husabergs... 8O
Husabergs have to be sold via different distribution-channels :finger2:

So every good thing, has is opposite

You would think KTM being in business to sell bikes they would promote `bergs more. I am not knocking KTM they do a great job and produce some fantastic bikes, just wish there was a Husaberg shop closer to home. In Newcastle there is a sreet, locally known as the Hill, that sells just about every make and the ones that aren`t are sold close buy. We are spoilt for choice but alas no Husabergs

Maybe I should look at opening my own shop

Bill :D :D

In Mexico, KTM dealers also sell Husaberg. The 450's for each brand are sold at the same price, but the FE550 is cheaper than a 525EXC

You know I hope that Husaberg completely pulls away from the KTM Grasp, and become thier own identy again, KTM has done nothing for Husaberg but rip them off......Husaberg was better off when they were on thier own, KTM has not done one single thing to help them...You would think that KTM would want to Dominate the market by Offering the KTM and the Husaberg, it makes a lot of marketing sense.......

Hi Coronaberg,

I´m pretty sure that Cailfornia is different, in a lot of ways :D ,

but as I mentioned already: Husabergs are distributed in the US not via KTM,
´bergs are distributed via a national distributor...
Guess that´s the same in Mexiko too
This is the reason why you can find bergs and KTM´s in the same store

Ya know, I think that the KTM/Husaberg marriage has been beneficial to both brands. it really helped on the Husaberg quality control and it gave KTM some much needed technology and a sweet test vehicle for new motors. I am hard pressed to believe that Husaberg would be around today had it not been for KTM.

I'm with Risky on this one.
