Hi I'm new to the forum, i just bought my first Husaberg a 2002 501e really good condition very very low milage.
Heres my problem went out for a ride the other day very impressed when I got home cleaned the bike a noticed the air filter and rear shock are exposed to the elements, the mud/splash guard is missing. Where can i get one from and any information for things to look out for would be great,
many thanks Hayden

Here is what i know about the rear inner fender or mud guard, there is a upper half that protects the battery and a lower half that protects the shock, there are two 3/4ish spacers at the top that bolt/mount between the upper inner fender and the frame and keep the whole plastic inner fender assembly under forward tension so the lower half stays against the swingarm and away from the tire as the suspension acts, it is flimsy plastic and gets tore up very easy if too close to tire or chain.

the pre 1997 inner fender worked on mine with the top and bottom half together with very minimal modification, drill one hole and shape the side so it doesnt look stupid, if you have the proper upper half then all the bottom halves from 1997-2003 will work that i know, i would guess the bottom half from 1997-2008 would work but dont know the 2003 upper half is different than my early berg adn i dont know if it would work but maybe is the same as yours. i know they changed the frame and body in 2000/2001 then it was the same for a while again i think.

i have a 2003 upper inner fender peice and probably the same makeshift spacers spacers i have but no lower half. PM me if you are interested it will be cheap.

p.s. reguardless of whatever you get dont forget if something isnt adjusted right, it will smoke the lower half, why do you think i know all this.... :D one time it was a corn stalk and ice studs, thats just a freak acccident, the other two times was stupidness :bounce3:
