ive got an 2005 fe450e and for some reason now the chain has started to chew through my mud guard (between wheel and shock)!
i have checked chain tension and i do notice that the chain under acceleration wiggles from side to side a little bit.
i've even used measurment to make sure wheel is dead straight,
getting annoyed at frame wear from chain and now my mud gaurd!

any ideas?

There is supposed to be a chain guide you can use but such chewing is quite normal, the right side of my mud guard is also chewed and I do not have the chaing guide.

You need to have the chain loose anyway because of the lack of linkage, just like on the KTMs. Such chewing is to be expected when you brake hard with the front only.

Use the rear more?

My mud flap is also getting chewed from the chain, but if it makes you feel any better, every bike I have had in the last fifteen years has done the same thing. Also, the mud flap on my bike,02 470, is also wearing on the brake side from my tire rubbing on it. The best fix for the chain is to check your chain pin wear, remove your chain, straighten it out, then hold it with the pins up and see how much the chain sags. You may be surprised how worn out the pins are getting, even though your sprockets my not be showing any wear. It my be time for a new chain. Hope this helps.
