My Riding buddy and I rode to the summit (1493m) of Mt Hekla last weekend.
Mt Hekla is one of the most famous and active Volacnos in Iceland. It lets of its steam about every 10 years ( last eruption 2000 lasted 11 days)
We started on a trail through old lava fields and then had a long full throttle blast upp through the snow fields to the summit. We started fairly early in the morning before the sun had a chance to make the snow too soft but still any let upp of the throttle meant that you were immeadialty stuck.
a real memorable ride. I have put a few pics in the Iceberg gallery.
