Motoz Mountain Hybrid...Vendors in Canada?

Hi all, I'm wondering if the Motoz Mountain Hybrid is available in Canada, and if it will fit. Have done a few searches and can't find anything on either of these two points. I'm running a 2011 FE390 with 12/52 sprocket and 116 links. Wheel is centred on the swing arm right now.

Thanks Paul.

I looked into Mitas tires in Canada (somewhat unrelated), but they are equally evasive. Mitas seems to be very expensive and for larger bore bikes (150/70 ratio fatties for the GS1200's).

I've found a local vendor which tells me it's a go in Canada from March 4th on wards. They've been testing the compounds on Vancouver Island over the fall and winter. I have my order in...Thanks. Paul

Have you reached out to Pacific Powersports? They might be able to help get a tire or let you know where to get one. There is a lot of good info/reviews on the tire at ktmtalk.

For some reason, I thought pacific powersports was in BC. So where did you order from?

FWIW I've used Mitas XT-644 a lot on my DR-Z. These are quite close to being true dual-sport tires. Nice dense knob pattern, tall knobs, super long lasting compound that's still sticky in the cold. Drawbacks are stiff carcass and some weight. But they last thousands upon thousands of km. I've got like 5000km on a front tire that's barely worn, I think 3000km on a rear tire that still has plenty of knob left. And I spin that rear in some pretty sharp volcanic gravel which really eats up tires. They're quality tires.

Which vendor? I'm also on Vancouver Island and I'm very interested in finding out how this tire performs in our riding conditions.

Pacific Motorsports is in BC. The mechanic at Mile Zero in Ladysmith told me about the Van Isle compound MMH testing that took place last fall. I went through a local guy - Speed Merchant, who orders from Motoz.

Boys and girls,

I found a local dealer! Google didn't let me find them for some reason, but serendipitously I stumbled upon them:

Product Category: MotoZ | Langs Off Road

They don't have an up-to-date site it seems, but they seem to be the type of people that will order stuff in for you no problem. For anyone on the east side of Canada, these guys may be the go-to.

My MotoZ Mountain Hybrid will be in early next week. Takes a week or so from order at Mile Zero in Ladysmith $165... I will let you know how the tire works in Van Isle conditions, as opposed to the desert like conditions that many vids and threads discuss. Going to run it with a heavy tube at about 12 psi at first, may go lower depending on sidewall stiffness and resistance to rim smacks...

That is a pricey tire... Hope it works well for you. I am still torn between a few (Michelin AC 10, Tractionator, etc.).

About the norm for what I've been paying out here for DOT tires. Picked it up today. It 's dot and has super deep tread. When I picked it up, the mechanic walked up and told me that an enduro racer had just used one and that the locals were all in awe of the grip. In fact, he ended up lopping every third outside lug on either side as the bike was lifting it's front end out of corners...yikes. I'll be using it as slow single track trail picker. Really looking forward to it, espeically after my Maxxis Desert which wears like iron, and grips like snot on a doorknob!

As much as I like the tractionator for grip, I find the outside knobs split where they join the side of the tire. My front on my husky was split at every outside knob on the front. I actually tore knobs off the back ....the bike was only a 144.

Definitely bad! I was talking about the Maxxis Desert IT. Great in the desert, terrible everywhere else. Hard, slick in mud and duff.
