in your opinion what would you say would cause at motor to die at idle under hard braking. eg. doing a stoppie.
My thoughts are too rich a main jet combined with a high needle causing a little fuel to surge forward under the momentum caused by the hard braking. Or possibly from pilot jet? mixture screw too far out(rich)?
Persoanlly I feel the bike is runing lean on the pilot circuit and a bit rich on the main. I am going to drop the needle back to where it was when I was using the smaller main jet and try again.
I had her out for a run on Saturday after installing a 190 main jet and flushing the rads with new coolant. It ran like crap. Under hard accelaration it would sometimes just die like i turned the key. This is probably due to the main being increased. There is still backfiring from the exhaust (all exhaust joints have been sealed with exshaust gum) and I still have a white plug. This would lead me to beleive it was lean posibly just on the pilot curcuit?. I hate this carb already.
jets are 35 pilot
190 main
dr268 needle jet
k51 needle raised to 4th notch (was lean on 180 and 4th notch)
45 starter jet.
idle mixture screw 3 turns out
I also have an akropovic end can.
The bike is ran at sea level
I have ordered a 40 pilot which i will try next week
I miss the FCR on my old DRZ
