MotoGP - Best Of Philip Island Vid

and the lead swaps all the time, and there are four manufacturers in the first four and all the riders are so tv-genic, and they're clearly braver, and they're visible instead of just a bloody helmet, and they look like what you ride on the road. and...

if only MV and norton had kept going i think that the thing might have had more kudos. alas the yen doesn't cut it anywhere in the west.

just my 2p

No question this is turning into a great battle as Hayden and Rossi battle it out for the points as the season comes to a close.Dani pedrosa was the first to blink among the contenders with his nasty crash in Malaysia. The odds makers would say thay while Rossi has had his DNF,s Hayden has not!He is due but, will his pattern of solid finishes be enough to hold back the fiery Italian.Time will tell but if all comes down to the final at Valencia,it will be wild and the whole world will be watching.

The races re air on SpeedTV tomorrow, I missed them on Sunday so I'll watch them tomorrow.
As much as I like Nicky and hope he does well I think he has inherited his 1st place position.
Rossi is still #1 IMO

I tape most all the races and watch them in the off season.

I don't know why, but, I find american superbike racing very boring for some reason, don't know what it is. But I sure look forward to the Moto GP races, I wish they aired the 125 races regualrly.

The whole neighborhood heard me last night at 10:30 pm when I finally got a chance to watch the race, and Vale' passed Gibernau for third just before the finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the first stint in the dry Rossi was flat haulin *** and IMHO would have gone on to one of his dominant performances had the rain not fallen, but, that's racing.

I have seen the 125 GPs several times on Speed. It is always fun to watch. I don't know what is the most fun: the sound or the constant passing?

I think this year it could go right down to the wire who thought Rossi could come back as strong as this after all his disasters earlier on in the season, good job I only live 60 miles from the Valencian circuit I think I could be making the visit.
Can any body tell me who Edwards is riding for next year I heard he was on the move but I no not where?.

For our local GP, PI we had 5 hours live Sat pm and 6 hours live Sunday broadcast from the world's best bit of bitumen. I useed my HDD recorder and chase played to see the end of the GP live Sunday after driving back form Sydney in the morning. We normally get all 3 races in a 3 hour telecsat on Sunday night into Monday morning. I normally watch it Monday night.

This season has had some outstanding racing. When you often get 10 bikes qualifying within 1 second you are expecting to see some close racing, and overtaking.

And I love Phillip Island. I've done almost 30,000 km around there now in my capacity as a rider trainer and sweep rider. Bass Straight kink at 220+ is orgasmic. PI is also the best spectator track I've ever experienced. From most places you can see over half the track. My favourite is South Siberia where GP boys come into view dueling into turn 1 and disappear over Lukey Heights, turn 8. At Siberia they are in your face sideways at 150. Fantastic.

Didn't get there this year, perhaps next year, but it is a great event.

And IF my grandmother had balls, she'd be my grandfather.......Nicky's been the most consistant rider BY FAR this year, and to say he "inherited" his 1st place position is pure unadulterated ********! (Did he "inherit" pole last week at Phillip Island?....) Keep in mind he's also doing ALL the development (ie guinea pig) work on the new bike WHILE RACING IT! I'd like to hear your opinion on why Rossi wasn't docked a lap for CLEARLY passing Casey Stoner under a waving yellow flag.....(anyone but the Doctor would have been penalized a lap!) GO NICKY!!! To see an American Flat Tracker as world Moto GP Champion is gonna be quite cool!
-Rocky-
P.S. Edwards is TOAST as far as next season in Moto GP, he'll be lucky to land a World Superbike ride the way he snivels.....

i thought it took rossi and yamaha at least 4 races to get the front end right with them having the new frame and it not working, the front end didnt stop chattering. and didnt he fracture his right hand and could hardly use the front brake and still ride and get a forth . theres no denying if he was on a honda itll be all rapped up by now!! just my humble opinion..

And Rossi had a tyre fall apart (was it Turkey?) and the bike fail at Laguna. He really is very very good.

An did I mention that when we get the GP telecasts they are on free to air network TV. Just trying to make you Yanks jealous.

Steve

You guys must be joking! This is the premier class of moto GP we are talking about .Everyone of these riders are great.there are no also- rans ,there are no losers in this group ,everyone of them has the potential to be the world champion. That what Moto gp is!!!The best of the best.

01 N.HAYDEN 16,20,16,20,11,16,20,25,9,16,25,7,13,11 -- 225
02 V.ROSSI 2,25,13,--,--,25,25,8,20,25,--,20,25,16 -- 204

Point taken Rocky. All I'm saying is Hayden may be the most consistant but Rossi has more wins. He also has more DNF's. If it weren't for those dnf's, what would the standings be?

Does Hayden deserve the championship?
Damn strait he does.

As riders they are all Gods and capable of winning on the day. The trick is to be there week in and week out, consistancy. Doohan did it, and Rainey and others before have done so too. It is a team sport, and the team's ablity to get the most out of the machinery in a limited time through to race start is crucial. Its no coincidence that Rossi's team is much the same as Doohan's was, led by Jerry Burgess. This year, Hayden's consistancy and team performance in spite of the development situation may yet get him a deserved championship.

And no one has yet mentioned Nakano's bolt in the first few laps. A dry race would have been very interesting. I still have some green blood in my veins.

there are many qualities needed to be a champion and both are doing well. the idea is that over a full season a true champion can shine through. rossi has had some rotten luck with if i remember two bike failures and one fall. the fall was worth aound 20 points and that's the gap. hayden hasn't fallen.

but two mechanical problems are very unfair in this sport. 50 points! coz he was leading by a mile in one and leading in the other.

it's going to be the best finish to a season since '83 and roberts v spencer. but it's worth pointing out that it's virtually impossible to go into the last round all level and then you have most wins etc. so don't expect a truelly open last round WHATEVER happens!

in '83 spencer only had to come second to roberts yet there were only 2 points in it goiung into the race. there is however one big difference this time. then lawson couldn't do nowt to help roberts and luccinelli and haslam couldn't help spencer.

this time there are 10 riders who will have something to say. and another thing, never doubt rossi's ability to get those 25 points, and never doubt the effort and ability of others to get between them. this is all down to haden and honda to get him to the front. that's the $1,000,000 question....

up until 10 years ago i was a real GP afficianado. knew all the facts. my all time sporting hero is KR and favourite race of all time is mang v ekerold for the 350. last race at the nurburgring 1982 - ish!!!!! they were so quick around there on little private 350s that they would have been 4th and 5th for the 500 grid. winner took the world title...

PS all this is from memory.

I don't really care about who wins the championship.

What I do really care about is a tight points race, with the championship crown within reach for a good number of riders. This creates an awesome racing spectacle with everyone going 101% because no one has an insurmountable points lead.

These last few 2006 MotoGP season races are going to be awesome. I hope it all comes down to bike bumping action in the last corner of the last race for the checkered flag. Brilliant!

And Poor James Ellison,Who's Still Using The Bike Rossi Couldnt Ride,Bike 1 Has Been Told He's Not Had The Results That Yamaha Wanted So He's Sacked.
Its Not That He's A Poor Rider Either,When Doing BSB He'd Ride The Bike To Some Circiuts And Race It,The Only Things That Were Changed Were Tyres And Exhaust.
He'd Embarrased Some Bigger Names Using Full Blown Race Bikes.
Anyways Got Me A Rossi Voodoo Doll That I'll Be Wishing Nothing But Luck For :D :D :D

This from Eurosport:

Moto GP race officials have apologised to Nicky Hayden after they failed to penalise Valentino Rossi for an illegal overtaking move in Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix.

Rossi passed Casey Stoner for fifth place late in the race under waved yellow flags and then went on to finish third – reducing the American’s series lead to 21 points.

Hayden, 25, said in the post-race that Rossi's move on Stoner was against the rules of the sport and that the Italian should have been given a penalty for the offence.

The Honda rider said: “I saw the waving yellow flag in turn three and we'd just caught Stoner and he made a pass there. I was waiting to see a board out for him (to give a ride-through penalty).

“I thought he should have been penalised but I knew he wasn't. If it was the other way round and I had passed under a yellow, I'd like to think it would be the same for me. The bottom line is I want to fight the dude on the track.â€Â
