Hello.
Have you seen the FX450 test on motocrossactionmagazine.com?
Last year they suprised me when they bothered to test the FE450, they are a motocross ONLY magazine.
I think the FX did great :) , these are the guys that come down the hardest on every bike they test,
the Husqvarna comment "It's as fast as melasse in january" is priceless! The fact that they took their time this year again to test the FX shows that they are fassinated by the products.

My son was living in California for 4 months from October onwards last year and seen MXA testing the bike at Glen Helen although he was too shy to go ask for ride. He said their was a couple of Bergs out their even seen someone riding FE round Perris which is a very sx spec motocross track...

The French magazine Moto-Verte also tested this years FX machines.
The Berg came out last :-? .... the new Yamaha with the reversed cilinder came out top! (the japs were always good in copying ideas)
But here's the interessting stuff. It is always a good test because there are also readers who get a chance to test and say their things.
One reader had the Berg at nr 1, the other reader placed the Berg on 2nd place. The both praised the very smooter delivery of the Berg.

How about that, huh?

Cheers,
Adriaan

was the moto-vert test a mx shoot out type thing?

if it was i wouldn't worry too much about the fx coming last.

hell, i've seen some tests that rated the new yz450 in last or near to last.

I haven't read the reviews and don't read those mags - I care more about trail riding than racing, especially MX racing, but my understanding is that the FX is not meant to be a full-on MX bike, but something meant more as a 'hobby' MX bike that is suitable also for Enduro competitions and trail riding. In other words, if you want something a bit more hard core than an FE, but still want to ride Enduros or trails, then this may be the bike for you.

Personally, I'll stick with my FE570 - I think it is brilliant. About the only thing I want to add to it beyond having it resprung for my weight is a Christini kit - if they ever make one for it.

I think that such a test, or any test, just shows that the (riding)qualities of all present-day bikes isn't that far apart.
These tests are also done by very capable riders and these men (I'm not aware of any female testriders) don't always have the awareness or ability to think & test like a modest hobby rider.

That's why I value those reader-tester's opinions so much. And that's were the FX Berg came out first place.....
If there's interest I can scan the article and post it here or in another tread.
