hi guys, hope you all had a safe and happy christmas / new years.

My '03 has alwayse had a problem with the tail light bulbs blowing. No biggy $1.50 later and a new bulb all fixed BUT now I have a new bulb, I've tested the switches and wiring and the bastard doesn't work. Funnily enough neither does my headlight. I can only put it down to having the stator wired wrong as it has just been replaced, but they only seem to go one way.

Any ideas of what to do. I have hard wired my headlight to my ignition so no probs there but if I do that for the tail light then it will be on full and not showing any difference when I use the brakes.

has any one replaced their tail light with an LED setup? I did for my indicators but during the day they are crap. Anyone seen a good setup on the maket?

I put the ACERBIS led taillight on and it works nice--totally compact and shows up well. At night you can see it 1/4 mile away ;) It's not certed for street, but have you seen what some rice-burners use for lights these days!! I don't think a cop well be checking it out--that's for sure!

Are you using a LED specific Flasher? If not then thats probably why your LED indicators are so weak.

You can get a very good one at www.DogItDesign.com Its called the Moto-Blink II.

RE: Re: mongrel tail light

Actually, The LED draws much less power so they should if anything be brighter. When installed on my Triumph I had to also install a Resistor so they wouldn't flash so fast.

RE: Re: mongrel tail light

the led's are bright enough but ya need to be directly inlinre with it to be able to see it cause there's only 1 led per indicator. I'll need to post a pic otherwise it wont make sense.

any ideas why there's no power to the rear light?
Oh I went for a ride on saturday and blew the 10amp fuse that sits behind the headlight. It's about the 3rd time this has happened in the last 6 month's. any ideas?

RE: Re: mongrel tail light

a wire is earthing out somewhere, a bare wire. or a wire is loose and able to 'flick'.

defo one of the above and probably the latter.
