Hello,

I've got a question for a mate but let's start to introduce myself. My nickname is Tikka and i'm from the Netherlands. I got my bikelicence in 1995 and started offroading in 2004 with a 1986 XT 600. Getting better at driving i realised that for the kind of offroading i'm doing the XT is to heavy. So a couple of months ago i bought a FE400 2003. What a fun bike to trash around on. I ride with my brother who drives a KTM 525 EXC 2003. I'm active on the dutch Allroadmaniacs forum with the same nickname. And now here.

Now my question.
A mate of mine will have a look at a Huasberg coming saterday. It is advertised as a FE550 from 2005.
But he reqeusted the framenumber after i told him to and from that is doesn't seems te be a FE or 550.
The seller told him that's a 2002 that only was registered in 2005.
The framenumer is YU7FC5K9X30000082. As i read it it's a Husaberg, FC, 5..... from 2003.
Am i right? Should he even take the time to have a look. He will use it for cross country rides.
Does a FC diver much from a FE in this case?
It has a large tank and the underseat tank. Looks clean on the pictures. €1750,- with spares.

Hope some of you could give some insight.

it will be a 2003 model and was available from late November 2002.

the FC is a good bike and doesn't differ so much from the FE. just lighting really but by now they have all been tampered with.

at this age you can have no idea if the engine has been cared for and just rebuilt or is trouble waiting for you to buy it!

but if it hasn't had good money spent on the engine then I would suggest that it will need it.

regards

taffy

Thanks! I will go with him and will ask about the servicehistory.
