Moab 2007 -- Regrets

it is inevitable that we have regrets.
usually the worst ones are for things we didnt do rather than what we did do.
here are a few of mine from the 2007 force ride......

photos....
we didnt get together and get a group pic. it would have been great since it would be an easy flashback to the event and perhaps it will be on someones wall 100 years from now. i think it was the largest gathering of privately owned husabergs ever anywhere.

frustration....
i lost my cool [the little i have] on the saturday ride with fryguy, fritz, logjump, etc..
i started swearing up a storm when in reality i was mad at myself for being too
tired. i would like to apologize to the group for having to endure my verbal toxic waste.

beer....
didnt bring enough of those little kegs. luckily there was plenty to be had from others
with the cold brew.

roommates....
i dont want to mention any names but dezduster is a tough roommate. he is out till
all hours of the night, comes home smelling like a brewery and a fire, and keeps spitting
out bad joke after bad joke.

bonding....
not spending enough time with friends from the last ride, and making new ones, and hearing stories about the funnies of each groups ride for the day. i missed not spending enough time with json and charles. i love those guys.

got any regrets?
leave them here.

No regrets Paulie!! A few more pictures would have been nice though.

People say the first Moab ride was special.......but I think the 2nd was pretty dam good!!

Regrets..a couple. #1 Didn't meet schwim till Friday late. #2 Didn't have my sh!* together on Friday morning, and missed an epic Stoveguy ride. #3 No group photo. #4 Missed a round or two of Taffy's whiskey. The best part of a regret, is the knowledge that I will not let that happen again, and there will be another Force ride. The other nice thing about an event like a Force ride is no two will ever be the same, making them unique to all who come regardless of when or where it takes place. My regrets pale in comparison to the positive memories, the great people, beautiful scenery, and the adventure of it all!

yeh i PM'd json last night mentioning how i couldn't believe that i'd missed him for 4 days. sheeeesh! was he under a rock? i saw him on sunday morning for the first time and then when i got close i realised that he'd gone him and left jim C standing there. he's always doing that!

:( I regret not making sure Json had a hot mug or two of java each morning before his group made their trek to Denny's. I know how important coffee is to him and wish I had been more accomodating. DOH! :?

I regret not staying up late enough to witness the lies becoming the truths.

I regret the last one being 2 years ago and the next being 2 years away.

I regret not getting a pic with all the Bergs lined up with their owners in the background. I bet we dould have seen it in an ad.

I hope to get together with some of you in the near future and ride some more.

we should do a northwest berg weekend up in bend. it can allow some of us to start familiarizing ourselves with the terrain so we can show everyone else around in 2 years.

i don't know if it's a 'regret', but i would have liked to have taken an extra day off to get there earlier. unfortunately with the new job it was not an option, so i can't really regret it.

Velo that is an excellent idea!

bendberg, do you mean great that he'll lead a ride again or great that he'd like to come to oregon?

i wanna get home alive everytime not just now and again!

No past regrets concerning this past ride. Everything was great.

I can see I will have a future regret though, if the next Force Ride is truly going to be up in the NW. Although I am am sure the riding is outstanding, a more central location should surely be considered.

I understand that many of you are from that area, and that there are several strong and loyal dealers operating out of that region as well. Anything over a one day drive (20 hours or so) eliminates participation for me, unfortunately. I am sure others are in the same situation as well.

Only regret I have is that I let someone at the raffle dinner talk me into trading my newly won riding pants for a hat.

like most people only regret is no pic of the whole group, that would have been most impressive. I can't belive you traded those pants for a hat, hell I would have given you ten bucks at least. :D

The group shot would have been epic. We need someone who can photochop really well to fix us up a group photo.

Taffy, great he wants to come ride in Oregon! But I'm not gonna ride with him! You'll have come over as well,so he is not lonely! Just kidding Velo, I'll ride with ya, you'll just have give me some meds to stop the whining :crying:

i posted somewhere else that i'm going to try to mellow out a little next time. if i just get up early and go ride hard for 2 hrs by myself (or with some other maniac earlybird like colby), i'll stop being such an impatient little ******, and probably be alot more pleasant to ride with. i guess i have a mental illness. i just really really really like to ride my motorcycle.

Velo, you say that illness is like a bad thing or something? Any day of riding is better than a day of doing most anything else (can't say the other, it's a familly site you know).

i have a regret!!!!! i didnt go. hope to do it next year. Im almost done with my berg overhaul anyone wanna ride out at hollister?
