So if this is the part, then it to me it looks like it's not 100% absoultely NEEDED, only if you must have electric start

I have that gear. I had it made last year.
I will look next week. infact I know I have it.
no, I don't have a prrice but I can tell you it was one of two machined because the smaller part of the gear had all the teeth gone.
make sure that whatever turns the smaller gear has good teeth?
