Hello Husaberg riders. I 've got a 97 FE600E I bought new. It runs fine but has to be kick started every time and thats a little much for me. It needs a starter clutch rebuild or replacement. Unlike the post 00' Husabergs the engine cases have to be split to get to starter clutch. I'm a 62 yr old rider that needs e-start to ride this big boy. I'm rally not confidant I could handle this job. So I'm looking for a mechanic in the Midwest. I live in Rockford IL. Of course I'll pay for all parts and labor. Hoping to keep labor reasonable. Real problem is nearest dealer is 400 mi. from me. Any one out there that could or would help me please email me through this website and I'll reply to all . I don't want to screw it up so that's why I'm asking and looking for someone with a little more experience. Thanks in advance Mackberg

Maicomatt, now thats a name. I rode Maicos 40 years ago. 72' 400 was my favorite. Yes Martin Horn finally closed down after many years in the European dirt bike business. Riding areas are almost nill now and I refuse to "Pay" to ride in a park. I heard Ottawa just got bought out and closed down. I guess if you want to ride, you have to travel. Michigan has a great trail system that goes all over the state. You almost have to dual sport your dirt bike to get any decient riding now days. Many cross-country and enduro rides within 200 miles of Rockford. I think Byron Motosports Park has open riding test days. Check their website for info. I think they are still racing in Mendota too. You young guys gotta pay to play these days. Too bad. Alternative is head West to Moab or the Rockies. Check out Michigan trail riding. Do a Google search.
Check your valves and adjust as required. Mark the milage or riding time then set a frequency to check again. Do a good job on any adjustment. Don't worry too much as you are not a professional racer and try not to over-rev the engine. I've had my Husaberg 12 yrs and never had to adjust the valves. Good luck Mackberg.
