With a very low snow year we have been forced to rest the snowmobiles until we receive further amounts of snow. This does however, allow us to have an excuse to pull the bikes back out for a great little ride with friends!
With several of the guys planning a trip to Baja in February, it was decided to head east out to the desert rather than the coastal side of the State. While the snow in the hills is thin, its still enough to not allow for mountain riding.
As we climbed Saddle Mountain the freezing fog became very thick. It was roughly 2000ft. Josh took the time to take this photo of his bike near the top of the hill.
The single track through the frozen sage brush was very eerie. An annoying issue was freezing fog glazing over our goggles. This proved to be too much. We all decided to drop down the mountain, and out of the fog.
The trails headed down had some fast sections in the canyons
After dropping out of the fog our group happened upon one of the many monster hill climbs in the Mattawa area. I rode half way up the hill and stopped. Gently laying Bergy down so as to be able to take some pictures.
Bryan makes a go at it!
Ben would really "wring out" his KTM 350, nearly making it to the top on every attempt. Here, I got a shot of him headed down to make yet another attempt at the hill.
I decided it was Bergy's turn. This motor is simply amazing. I must admit that bouncing off the rev limiter gave me guilty feeling. Im not normally this hard on my bikes. But, Husaberg HAD to represent for the day!
