Maybe Husaberg were right?!

My 2012 TE300 forks are awaiting much heavier springs, so I thought why not bolt on a spare pair of 2010 KTM OC forks that I used on my 2008 KTM 300.

The 2010 forks were always OK on my KTM, not great at all.

But what a surprise when yesterday I bolted them into the Berg, they were fantastic, totally smooth and predictable, they were not like this on my KTM that I sold 6 weeks ago.

They have been sat in the shed for 6 weeks in same condition they came off the KTM, 0.48 fork spring with 135mm air gap. So why the transformation?

I am thinking maybe the billet clamps that Husaberg harp on about do actually make a difference and do allow a smoother arc on the fork and that they were somehow binding on the KTM?
2011 KTM frame alot better than 2008 KTM frame?

I am really curious to find out why, because I am now seriously wondering if the standard Berg forks could really improve on this set-up.

Very unexpected to say the least.

That's pretty interesting! It seems to me that there must be a lot of variables that could cause this - weight, center of mass in the frame, frame stiffness, steering heat angle, etc. It'd take a genius engineer to figure it out, but it's certainly a happy discovery for you!
