Hi, I just picked up a 2013 Husaberg FE350! It has kind of high hours (200) but the guy I bought it from is the original owner and has taken great care of it and logged all his maintenance very well. Valves have always been in spec when he checked and logged inspections. It is in pretty excellent shape. No Damage, hardly a scuff on the plastics, and the engine looks like it has never even seen the dirt. The guy was going to SuperMoto it, don't ask me why, but ended up getting a DRZ from his brother and just used it to putt around his ranch outside of Tucson.
I have started going through everything, greasing, checking torques, etc.
I have ordered a top end kit to replace the piston because of the high hrs, but after reading more about these bikes I am starting to think that it will be all good when I do the piston inspection. I'll have everything ready but it seems that these 350 engines are pretty reliable beyond 200hrs. I can't even seem to find any videos of a top end job on them, and I take that as a good thing. To me that seems to infer that there haven't been to many top ends done on them. If you have done one or know of any insights on the engines that would be helpful I thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.
I am pretty excited to have a bike this nice as my own. It is definitely a well put together machine. Fit and finish second to none as far as I can tell. I am coming off of a YZ450 that was a great bike but not quite right for my applications no matter how hard I tried to make it work. The FE350 is PERFECT for the trails I want to hit on it. I can't wait to get her out on the trail and enjoy it. Trying to be patient until I know that she is tight and right.
Anyone in Tucson that wants a riding buddy, I am IN! Glad to be part of the Ole Blue 'Burg community and see you on the trails!
