Manual Cam Chain Tensioner for '10 FE450

I found a spiffy blue anodized manual cam chain tensioner for the FE for about $45. Anyone using these in this bike? I am new to the FE, actually it is still in transit to my house. Planning the mods already.

My last bike was a DRZ400 - they had terrible tensioners that sometimes failed with predicibly nasty results. The seller for the FE model claims the stocker uses oil pressure and the kit blocks off the oil jet used to power the tensioner, thereby allowing a bit of extra oil flow to the head.

Sounds pretty good. You can't really go wrong with a manual tensioner I suppose, other than perhaps wasting 50 bucks on an unneeded but nice looking doodad. Because of past bikes, I admit to being biased against the OEM auto models. Any thoughts?

Where did you get your manual tensioner from? I'm currently waiting for a DJH Cyclesport manual tensioner to become available for the FE570. The OE one on my bike is intermittently noisy. It beggars belief that a bike can have chain tensioner problems in this day and age. It's something you expect on a bike from the mid 1980's. Very dissappointing. I'll consider the purchase of a manual tensioner as money well spent. Other than this small problem the bike is SUPERB!! :D :D :D :D

Cyclesport is the place. I sent an inquiry email, Dave responded, the tensioner is not on the site yet, but it is available. He said to order model DJH1300OR and note that you want it in blue, lest you have KTM orange on your 'Berg!

It would seem my timing is most excellent in this instance

I was waiting for notofication of availabilty too. Daves site lists the 09-11 Husaberg tensioner as DJH 1200-B. The number you were given appears to fit a Beta.

Thanks. Looking at the site you are correct. I sent a note to Dave to make sure. I will post up when I get a reply.

Edit - Dave promptly replied to my inquiry. 1200-B it is for our late model bikes. The site is updated now too!

Edit #2 . Got my tensioner. It really is a finely machined thing of beauty. Worth the money for the bling factor alone 8)

Actually I got 2 of them. Dave sent me an orange one, then must have realized his mistake and sent a blue one. Husabergs don't do orange

Pretty darn straight up of Dave to send 2 when I only paid for one, with no apparent expectation that I return the "extra" one. I will of course not abuse that and send the orange one back. Just giving props where props are due!
