Any advice on making my 2011 390 street legal? It has not been titled yet in Oregon and it looks like DMV needs to inspect it before issuing a title and license for it. I was looking at the Tusk lighting kit. The bike came with a Certificate of Origin showing a 17 digit VIN. Advice? thoughts? thanks!

My dealer stocks them and they are pretty much plug and play.
Here we license the bike at the time of purchase then add whatever is needed for state inspection, get it inspected at the local bike shop and its good to go.

I also went with a SicAss Racing setup. A little pricey, but the kit included everything I needed. The main wiring harness is already in place, but you need short harnesses to hook up the lights on the front and back. The SicAss it swaps out some of the handlebar switches too. I am pretty happy with it.
I thought I needed to have the bike inspected in Utah, but I did not. I just took it to the DMV and registered it as street legal. They verified that that the bike matched the VIN #, etc. I think I will need to have it inspected this year though.

I think you're asking the wrong people! As you know, living in "Kalifornia" as we do, that the DMV is a
pain to deal with. There's no going around them. They have a vice like grip on the vehicular world here
on the left coast. I bought the 2011 FE 570S model because of just what you are experiencing. I didn't
want any such situation to deal with and now, with a titled license plate, I don't. I think you will be unsuccessful
in your attempt to plate a bike that says, right on the title, "Off road use only". I've seen a million of these post's
on other sites with people saying, "just get the Baja Designs Kit and everything will be fine". I beg to differ.

I just made my 2011 FE390 street legal using almost all factory parts. The bike is available dual sport in the UK and Australia so all of the parts are available "plug and play". I choose not to use the factory rear license plate mount and turn signals.
If you go to this site: http://www.ams4ktm.co.uk/category/2-ktm-parts.aspx you can find slides with an exploded view of the bikes OEM parts for the UK. It was not that hard to go through and identify all of the parts needed. I made note of the OEM part numbers and then ordered them on KTM-Parts.com. Installation was pretty straightforward. The one thing I stumbled with was using non-factory LED signal lights which do not work with the factory non-LED relay. Siccass has a LED relay which plugs into the factory wiring, along with a choice of signal lights.

I bought the SICASS lighting kit for my 2009 450 FE. Installing the headlight was no problem, but I can't find any way to mount the tail light that came with the kit. I even bought the black plastic Husaberg # 81208016000 NUMBER PLATE CARRIER, as my 2009 model did not have it, but I still can't find a way to mount the SICASS tail light. The Husaberg tail light cost about $75, so I would like to use this tail light if possible.

It is my understanding that it is very difficult to get a dual sported dirt bike street plated in OR, much like it is in CA.
So state plating issues aside... I also have a 2011 FE390. I took a look at the parts for the Euro version of the bike, and found the part numbers for the missing stuff. I THINK this is a complete list. Any comments?

First question.........what's your idea for the rear turn signals as far as mounting goes. There is an extra bracket (plastic I am sure) on the EU model that we don't get here in the states which holds the turn signals on the rear and the light for the plate? Ideas??

Just placed and order with KTM parts for the flasher switch and harnesses as well as the brake light switches for when I get my bike on the road. It was a big help having a list of parts and part numbers. Thanks

Well I got my order from KTM parts yesterday. Unfortunately things aren't going as smoothly as I had hoped. First of it turned out that I didn't need the brake switches, my bike already had them they just weren't hooked up. Hopefully I can return them. Anyway I got the brake light working, mostly.
Now I'm hooking up the signal controller and the harnesses for the turn signals. At first things were falling into place, but that soon ended. I quickly realized that I need to remove the tank, was actually pretty easy. That hasn't really gotten me anywhere though. Right now I have a bunch of connections, some from the bike, some from the signal harnesses, that don't connect. I took some pics, hopefully someone can help me out. My bike is a 2010 FE450.
This white connection is the signal controller. I'm guessing the two yellow connection are for the signals.

This is coming from the signal harness, can't seem to figure out what this connects to.
This is coming from the bike, don't know what it's for.
