I know that the smaller motor is the Mitsuba SM-14 and I am looking to know what the larger, "updated" model is...

It seems to be an SM-14 as well, but FNE... good to know.
The smaller one has the rear mount closer to the center than the bigger one, where the mount is flush with the bottom. There is an offset of about one cm on the smaller motor.
