main jet tap size

I was pulling my carb apart to clean it and check for issues, and found that the main jet was stripped. I'm guessing it was cross threaded at some point. I got it out of the "main nozzle" (is that what it is called? Or is it a "needle jet" ?) but the threads on the main jet are toast. I now have a new main jet, but the main nozzle (needle jet?) threads are in poor shape. I think I can get them cleaned up with a tap.

Does anyone know the tap size to use? I don't trust my ability to figure this out at the tool store.

Also, the needle is an NVCS which it sounds like was from a Honda. What would be the stock needle if I wanted to put the original one back in?

Thanks all.

I Dont know the tap size for the main jets but you could just replace the needle jet.

This needle is supposed to be good. I have A NCVR needle in mine.
stock for needle your bike is something like OB-DVR and a around 180 main and a 40 pilot
your NCVS clip 3 or 4 and a main jet around 165 should be a good starting point.

And yes it is a honda needle.

Thanks for the info. I may end up getting a new atomizer if I can't get it running right. I have some other bits I need to order from you Taffy anyway before I go on my next ride so I'm sure you'll be hearing from me. BTW, did you get shifter levers in stock yet?

The tap ended up being a 5mm w/ .8 pitch.
