By the way does anyone know what the main bearing float/ play shoud be. We know it needs to be set right and not too tight, but what is the measurement??

according to the great dale lineaweaver, crank's axial clearance for ball bearings is not critical and may be as little as 0.2mm and as big as 0.7mm

Ah that is a big variance.....does anyone know what the workshop manual says etc.
I believe it should be checked before walking out of the shop with a bike?!!!
