if you want to ensure a closer match to the expensive OEM stuff check the tech specs for of the brand of fork oil you can buy locally - Husaberg is ISO VG(15)

Different brands can have different ISO ratings for the "same" W ie one brand 5W another 10W,

Naturally on the various forums people use everything from sewing machine light oil through Pentosin to OEM Magura (and everything in between such as baby oil) so I might be overthinking this...

From memory here in Australia Castrol 5W fork oil is the same viscosity.

I use medical grade mineral oil from the pharmacy. It is the same stuff without the colouring and much cheaper.

When in a pinch, for what it's worth, I used atf for the husaberg clutch system (hymec 167). Has been working fine for a few months now.
Still planning to switch to the right magura stuff. Magura and Shimano both use mineral oil so any bike shop dealing with mountain bikes should have it.
