Hi, Folks:
I have a 2010 FE390 stock rear shock.
Want to respring the rear shock. Did as manual suggested: put on bike stand (no weight on wheels). Removed top shock bolt. Went to remove bottom and the bolt spins with the bushing. Tried putting top bolt back in, having someone sit on the bike and trying, but bushing and rear bolt still spin inside swing arm hole. The bolts have the OEM yellow thread locker that Husaberg put on them and I'm not surprised the bushing is spinning rather than the bolt coming out.
The way I see it, I have three options:
Heat, lube, and several weeks of likely futile effort.
Use a drift in the tiny gap beween the shock flange and swing arm and mashe the heck out of what little bushing I can see (not my preferred option, but better than...)
Cut one side of the shock bracket and attempt to pull the shock off sideways and bin it. (My least favourite option).
Any experience, suggestions, apart from put it back together and ride/sell it.(Love the bike, have had it for 10 years...it's not going anywhere...
Cheers in advance...
