You beat me to it Steve !!!! Hope you had a good trip home mate.
It was a great weekend, I thoroughly enjoyed it, except for the half a tree I put through my radiator, Bugger !!!!! A big thanks to you for the suspension tuning today, it makes the riding so much more enjoyable.
Hope Wal is having a safe trip home. A very big thanks to him for getting it all off the ground and organizing it. And for the delivery of the spare radiator !!!! I will leave the photos to Wal to post as he has all mine on his laptop. Don't want to steal his thunder before the poor guy even gets home !!!!
Cheers
Garry.

Friday
Got organised through the week and fully loaded up on Thursday night. Called pids to confirm he was still going. Up early Friday and left home about 5.45. Found pids ready to go and off to Sydney to collect 650 after leak fix. It was ready to go and no charge for consumables like fresh oil and coolant either, which was great. Thanks Sutto. Head west and over the mountains to Louee and got there about 16.00.

Expected to find OrangeBerg somewhere assembling wildman's 550 but neither were obvious. Down to the track to check it out and check in and still no sign of another Berg. They'll no doubt turn up soon. Signed up and bikes in secure storage and back up to the shearer's quarters to get settled. Found wildman's ute with engineless Berg shortly before finding wildman having a beer and wondering if his bike would be operational soon. Not much else to do now but kick back with a beer with wildman and pids.

Can't remember exactly, but after a while hamberger and the Geelong whiners arrived to find out what was happening. Not much, but shortly thereafter OrangeBerg, cafey18 and the rest of the Orange crew arrived and proceeded to assemble the workshop and setup some flood lighting. They were ready to go before wal got his bike of his ute. An hour or so and a suitable quantity of amber fluid determined that wildman would need new throttle cables before going too far. The closest were in Orange, or perhaps my spare Yamaha set attached to my 501 which was locked away down at the track. Worry about it tomorrow so off to the pub for a beer and a feed.

Saturday
Breakfast and watch a few soggy heads getting mobile was entertaining. Close to riding time so down to the track and get ready. pids and my KTM mate from Sydney were ready to go when the Geelong mob arrived as did the crew from the Murray. we decided to wait a bit for wildman and and the Orange crew to get down to the track so we could get a photo, which they eventually did. Got the photo, 14 Bergs lined up, and now it was overdue for a ride. We went out into the bush in a few groups after a couple of warm up laps of the grass track for me and others used the MX track.

Did a few hours up in the bush and then back to the canteen for lunch and to find out what was happening with wildman. My Yam cables were unsuitable, so he was off to Orange on a 5 hour trip to get some cables. cafey18 also had a tale of woe, a stick through his radiator after 10 mins of riding on his 4 hr old 650 was making him cry. My tube of epoxy steel was not enough to fix it, it was a good size stick. **** happens sometimes.

Back out for the afternoon and some more quality time in the bush. Met up out there with the Geelong mob in time to watch Irish walk up a snotty hill from the top and shortly after we all pitched in to drag a bike up from over a bank a bit further on up the trail after it had overshot a corner. Lucky I had my trusty tow strap. After a while it was down to me and a KTM. It was starting to get a little gloomy so we headed back and found that wildman was out riding, which was great news and also cafey18 was out. wildman had found a spare radiator in OrangeBergs shop and so all was well for the time being.

Back to the shearer's quarters for a shower and a beer and off to the pub for another beer and a feed and spin some ********. OrangeBerg donated a Berg banner to all the riders to hang in their sheds and wildman's great T shirts and stubby hiolders were distributed.

Sunday
Time for another ride, so back to the track and get the bikes out of storage and get ready to go. Time for some pics in the bush, so cafey18, wildman and the Murray mob and pids and I headed out to do some laps of the special test. A bit of toing and froing and then I came around a corner to find pids gearless. Fortunately not too far from camp. Ahh well, **** happens. Down to me and cafey18 and wildman to cut a few laps of the special test to get some more pics. I offered the boys a ride of my 650 and that seemed to open their eyes a bit as to what setup means so after a few more pics I got the screwdriver and spanner out and dialed some clickers for them which they seemed to appreciate.

Nearly eleven and time to head back to camp, load up, get some lunch and head home as I've got to be on the road at 06.00 Monday. Also cought up with the Louee owner to discuss what we were trying to do and what could happen next year. All good, and more to come on that subject soon.

OrangeBerg had the clutch cover off pids' bike and some damaged bits were identified. Not repairable there, so it would return to Orange for a proper fix. Farewells all round and 7 hours later got home, unloaded and checked in with the wife, get this thread started, and then get ready for work Monday.

A great weekend and thanks to everyone for making the effort to be there and contributing in some way.

Nice work Steve. Sums the ride up quite well. I could have sworn that it was just a little stick and it would just brush off !!!!! More like half a tree !!!! Oh well, as they say, sh!t happens !!!! A big thanks to Wal for bringing the spare radiator back from Orange, made me smile big time to be able to keep riding.
Just amazing the difference it makes to ride a bike with a sorted suspension. Thanks for your time and advice with that.
Hopefully Wal will post some pics and a report soon.
Cheers :D
Garry.

Hi cafey18

Thing is that your and wildman's suspension is not yet fully sorted, it still needs valving and springs, its just that it is now better than it was, but a lot more is possible.

Steve

Hopefully we will get Frank Ponds up again for a suspension workshop with the Bathurst DSMRA. I will be the first to put my hand up for that one. I believe his price is very reasonable for a full suspension set up.

Great stuff Steve.
I couldnt help notice the reference "Geelong Whiners" ........ Come on mate  you cant leave it at that now, give us the story.

Hi Oz,

Hope all is well with the missus. You missed a top weekend, and wildman missed your company on the long drive.

hamberger seemed to suffer at the constant jibes from his non Berg riding buddies. The amount of distance travelled times the amount of booze consumed in the big F250 rig probably had soemthing to do with it. They didn't front on Sunday that I'm aware of, so presumably they headed south for some superior riding, or something.

Steve

Yep shame you couldn't make it Oz. Hope all is well with your lady.
After a good yarn with the Geelong boys on Sat night they admited to being spoilt by riding in the Otways where they said you hardly ever see a rock, it's all nice loamy soil !!!! Imagine that !!!! So the problem for them was it was to rocky for their liking. No big drama they were cool about it, just a bit disapointed I feel. And they gave hamberger a fair earful about it. Poor guy probably had to put up with it all the way back to Geelong.
Cheers
Garry

I bloody made it !!!

Hey guys,

wot a trip home...left Louee at about 1:30pm aftre having a chat with flatchat & the guys & drove until 3am where I stopped in Gympie ( home of the ozrider ). Slept under the tailgate of my ute in a fog as thick as snow on the ground for 3.5 hrs & continued on... :)

Had a crap first day back at work( today ) but it was after all, the best time I'd had in ages.

I'm going through all the photo's now ( turning them up the right way ) before I put them on the sight. I have asked Schwim for a seperate Aussie force bit & he has organised it today, so hold on.

Thanks again to all the guys that turned up & made it THE EVENT it was. Hopefully we have a few more Husaberg riders there next year but if people like John Prior & the guys at Orange Husaberg have anything to do with it there will be.. :D

Couldnt help but post this pick first.

Wal

Photo size !!!

Hey Cafey,

all the photo's we got are huge & I cant download them. Help Schwim !! :?

I've tried making them different types but the size really does count on this particular occasion 8)

My last photo sucked. 8O

RE: Photo size !!!

Hey there Wal,

By download, do you mean upload to the server?

I can send you a link or two via pm if you want an application that will batch resize all images in a directory.

I will tell you this. Tif's are terrible for everyday sharing. They're great for web design due to their clarity, but normal everyday pics are too bulky if saved in this format.

I think I can also send you a link to a format converter as well, if you need it.

Or if you have access to a linux computer, we could do it in seconds with no software other than what's normally already installed.

Just let me know if this is what you're trying to do. Hit me up via PM as I often miss thread replies :(

thanks,
json

Hi wildman,

Great to here you got home OK.

This one here might help re resizing - http://www.online-image-editor.com/ Its worked OK for me previously. My daughter says "This is a really useful tool for resizing images - the best I've found that doesn't pixilate or reduce the quality. Plus it's free and online"

If you are running XP, with jpg files in a folder, right click on one of the images and you will have a resize option. Follow the prompts. Seems to work OK.

Some Windows installations will have a copy of MS Photo Editor which will also do resizing.

Presumably there are a heap of freebies available on the net too.

Looking forward to the pics,
Cheers
Steve

G'Day Wal,
Glad to hear you got home safe and sound. We were wondering when you would surface !!!!
Remember I took the photos at 3Mp so we could get a good print or crop them and still get a reasonable print.
I use Paint Shop Pro to reduce my pics but the software Steve has recommender sounds good (free). As Steve and I know, who are we to argue with our daughters. If they say it's good then it probably is !!!
I have left it to you to post the pics as you should take the credit for the ride. Thanks for all your effort and organising mate. We had a great time and for me it was a "holy" experience !!!! My radiator is away being repaired as we speak.
Classic comment of all classic comments on the trip back to Bathurst, John in between naps "I think I may have overdone it a bit" !!!!! Great stuff.
Cheers
Garry.

Hey guys,

most of the photo's are now posted in the gallery Schwim setup for us. I got him to put Cafey18 & Steve on the list of people whom could upload ( thanks schwim ) into the gallery as you were the only others I saw taking photo's.

That program works great but it was only because I was trying to put it on the post, the gallery had no worries with any of them. Going to resize one & change my avatar I think
( when I work out how to do it again  )

Thanks again for the support. Everyone there had a fat time (apart from Hambergers mates) but they didn't have a Husaberg to ride, so maybe thats why
 Hope to see you all there next year with another mate on a Husaberg

Wal

Hey Guys, Sounds like everybody had a good time (even if there was a few repairs required)!!! Sorry I missed it

Steve,
Can I use the image you posed of the bike lineup to send to ADB to wet their appetite?

sounds like it was a top show, Roll on 2008!

Azza.

Hi awilksch,

No worries. Its only a 2 mp camera though. wildman or cafey18 might have better image. Send me a pm with your direct email and I'll pass it on.

Steve

Hi awilksch,
Have a look in wildman's gallery and choose one there as he has all my photos as well. I took my pics at 3mp+ so they print out pretty good. Not sure what mp Wal's photos are at.
Cheers
Garry
