loss of power gradually over last 6 months

As the title said i think i'am slowly loosing some power especially in the upper rev range.
Could a worn needle and seat etcetera be the culprit ? or is my sem ignition going to die soon ? (has never been replaced) still has plenty of grunt down low just starting to feel flat up the top and is not much faster then a 06 wr450 in a straight drag on bitumen

have you checked the valve clearance since the rebuild ?

does top end rebuild include piston & rings ?
 
i replaced the rings but not the piston did not look to bad and come to think of it no i hav'nt checked the valves :oops:
 
could the ring gaps be too close together and allowing some compression thru



if that made sense to ya
 
I dont think compression is the problem the ring gaps were aligned to opersite sides of the piston.
Im thinking that maybe the ignition may not be advancing but im not real sure how to check it on the berg
(i'am a mechanic by trade)
