Losing power

When the bike is cold the throttle response is very 'crisp' when the bike is fully warmed up the bike feels sluggish. When warmed up a little for like 5km's I can easily lift the front wheel in fourth gear with a little pull on the handlebars, when the bike is fully warmed up it takes a lot of effort to get the front up in fourth gear. The difference in power is very noticable.

I'm guessing this is a jetting problem? But before I start messing around with the carb I'd like you guys opinion on possible other reasons?

The bike is a 2002 650 engine, X2 lineaweaver cam, 450 hp piston.

Carb is a fcr carb with a OBEKR needle wich sits 5th from the top, 150mj, 45pj

I have a lineaweaver needle, NHFS (honda) needle and a obdvt needle, also have a wide collection of main jets and pilot jets.

I know it probably looks like I'm too lazy to do some testing, but have been down that road before and just don't have a feeling for it. I messed around for ages and never got any decent results.

Thanks, Christof.

Does sound like a jetting thing, too rich, but your numbers don't seem too bad. My 628 with the Lineaweaver needdle is:
MAJ 190-200
PAJ 3/8 or 55
R&D Flex Fuel Screw 1 5/8 t
main 150-155
pilot 40
start 85
clip from top 6/7
ap mm 0.2

Unless your SEM stator is heating up? Fuel flow, cap venting?

I'd say the main could be low at 150 and that you may have too high compression piston? and then combinations of anything.... ignition advance, jetting, compression....

Taffy

I'll try the settings you stated with the lineaweaver needle, if that doesn't work I'll invest in one of Taffy's jet kits, and if that doesn't work, I'll at least know that the problem doesn't lie with the jetting.

Thanks.
