Hi guys.I just have bought husaberg 501 2003,but engine has been changed to 390.Piston and liner have worn out.Can I change my bike cc if I put bigger liner and piston?Maybe there will fit 2001 husaberg FX470 E FC470 piston and liner?Sorry for my silly question, but I am new in Husaberg world :)

you can come up with a few displacements using the different liners and crank combinations. i would say the 501 is the best combination. i loved mine and would actually prefer it to the 550
call boss, i bet he has the parts in stock

i have a used 550 2001 liner that needs replating, but the last time i checked prices, a new liner was the same as replating($200). so i would go with a new liner but keep your old liner/piston.

Who could tell me will 2001 husaberg FX470 E FC470 piston and liner fit on my bike?

you got that bike in Wicklow Ireland didn't ya! :D

it's not a sleeved 501, it's a 450 sleeved to 380.

well at least after chatting to him it was the answer we came up with. he said someone was on it but hadn't come back to him for a week so i guess that'll be you.....you came through in the end.

you can't make a 390 out of a 501.

I'm confused, I thought the piston and liner are found under the cylinder head?

PS Steve

bought all my sat nav for the Breslau this summer. reckon I'll pull it off and bring it over in the suitcase for the Lions tour. only need to buy me a Husaberg and a some sun cream, lots of sun cream!

I surely did not expect to hear new things about my bike here haha :D Oh yes Taffy it is same husaberg from Wicklow. As you can see there are not rings fault :) Anyway I bought it and I need to heal it now.How did you realise that bike was 450cc and changed to 390?
What other bikes can be donors?

well it is the only real alternative. 450 to 380; man, many people did it.

to get the stroke right you only had to measure the distance from ontop of the left cover to the underside of the headgasket. that would have been the stroke. bore: you know.

I have a 92mm 380 piston here.

what did you give for it if I may ask? £800?

Taffy

I have a 550 barrel and piston in good used condition surplus, was taken from an engine I stripped for spares for a 650. I can email you photos If interested.

if it is a 501 that's fine but it won't fit a 450 or 650.

Taffy I emailed you.check your email.
Dave Clarke racing did not respond to my email.Does anyone know how to reach them?
Also looking flywheel puller 25 or 20(not sure I will check tomorrow)x1.Maybe someone from this forum could sell it or recommend online shop. Thanks for attention, good night

I get a little bit tired of searching used parts.Could someone tell me will these parts fit to my engine?

That's funny ,because engine is changed and I am not sure is it 2003 or older, but it also could be newer. As you know husaberg made changes in 2004 engine.Engine no 4-810*02649* if it is helpful.Thank you.

nothing yet but then Grosso isn't a name is it so I don't know half the time I'm talking too!

I do flywheel pullers for 15.93gbp.

as I say, you had 100 x 57 B & S
that got changed to 92 x 57 for 380cc.

the liners get shorter with each stroke and also the hole in the cases gets lower.

as a 450 it can only have a 380 (92mm) kit in it but someone can always have fitted the 95mm piston in or even a 97mm. fact is though the liners go with the stroke.

as I said, I have a piston here, maybe the liner can be renikasiled. you're not saying much about that?

Grosso is my nick and I have used it for long time in various forums :)
I took off flywheel and engine is fully stripped right now.It was good decision to not buy that berg, Taffy. :D
It looks quite clean bike ,but also repairing would cost quite nice amount of cash :D
So ,Taffy, say me simply and briefly from your comment I understand ,that I can buy that engine kit, because my engine was 450cc.
