Looking for east coast(NC/GA/TN) dealer recommendations

Hey there guys,

I need a Husaberg dealer. Not a dealer that can work on Husabergs but someone that works on Husabergs. I'm in western NC about 15 minutes from the TN line and about 10 from the GA line. Before he moved on, Clay had given me the addresses of the nearest dealers, but to be completely honest, the tap has run dry and I can't afford any more excursions to dealers that don't fix the bike's issues. I would absolutely love to hear from someone with personal experience with any of these dealers. For clarification, none of the dealers suggested by Clay have seen the bike. I tried two local non Husaberg dealers. Here's the three Husaberg(?-some suggested by him were KTM dealers that he thought would be able to work on the bike.) dealers mentioned by Clay:

GENUINE DIRT RACER PRODUCTS
313 (B) 9th STREET
N. WILKESBORO, NC 28659
336-903-0363

SPORTCYCLE KTM
1702 W LAMAR ALEXANDER
MARYVILLE, TN 37801
865-681-7895

PERFORMANCE CYCLE INC.
1405 BYPASS 72 NE
GREENWOOD, SC 29649
964-223-3848

The bike went to two local dealers for hard starting. The first I suspect didn't do anything and billed me only for a carb disassembly. The second dealer did actually disassemble the carb, and adjust the valves and performed a general tune-up. When cold, I was able to get the bike started within 50 kicks, which was an improvement from before.

In addition to the hard starting, I also need to resolve it's inability to idle and the 1st-neutral-neutral-neutral-2nd shift pattern. If there isn't a dealer within driving distance, I'll save up my beans and use a shipping service to get the bike to a competent mechanic. I just need to get it running. I'm missing out on all the good weather :(

Thoughts concerning any area dealers/mechanics would be greatly appreciated!

geez. no easterners want to talk to ya, json. :cursin:
can't help you with it either. when i first read this, i was going to recommend you contact schwim, and then looked to see who the poster was.
on the starting issue: how's the carb needle and needle jet? new? newer? original?
unless your intakes are badly tuliped, and the valve adjust was recent, its prolly not that. but if the person did it wrong, that's another issue.
stator original?
on the shifter issue, i'll bet the screw on the shift drum is loose.

good luck

I've only had suspension work done by Genuine Dirt Racer and it works great. It is owned by Bart Hayes of Power Sports Graphics. He is a dirt bike guy and loves what he does. Give them a call at least.

Mom always said if I didn't go out and make some friends, I'd have nobody to use when I needed them. :(

Thanks very much for the heads up, Ted. I'll move them to the top of my list :)

thanks,
