looking for a new berg

Hey guys,I am new to this site,this is my first post.Anyway my wife gave me the green light to go buy a new bike so I am looking at the bergs because I want something different.I currently ride a 01 ktm 520 sx and love the power so I was looking more towards the fc550.I was talking to a couple of people who said that the bergs and huskies are not reliable bikes but I want credible info on people who actually own them and ride them hard.I live in southern california and ride mostly tracks with the occasional desert trip.I am going to wait for the 06 models so that gives me plenty of time to research,its hard to decide between the 450 and 550.Thanks for your insight,I really want one of these bikes.

I have an 04 FS650e (sm) wich ive had for 7 months now and had absolutely no trouble i am now thinking about a FE/FC550 for the dirt and will also most probably wait for the 06 but just as long as you keep up to date with maitenance you will not be dissapointed. if you read dirt rider in the last two months they have tested the 450 and the 550 enduro versions.

Husabergs have really improved and after 2004 I think you will find that their reliability can match all other makers.

There are several good dealers in California. I have received good support from Erik's and from Z-racing myselff. My bike, a 99 has never failed me and I will go for a newer Husaberg in the near future.

Don't know where in So Cal you are, but our dealer network down there is growing fast. Rocket Motorcycles in San Diego is a new dealer, and our established shops down there - Erics's, Z-Racing, and Ron Bishop all have bikes and information for you. And anything specific, don't be shy about asking around here, as this is the center of the Husaberg universe

Well Bill, every place that you visit is great, since you are such a ray of sunshine

(That's my "schmooze" for the day).

Eric's is a well-appointed shop. They carry a lot of orange motorcycles and a few Husabergs too

Brett Callicot, the mechanic, is a hoot. Sort of an "old school" shop, which I'm sure many Husaberg fans appreciate.
