looking at buying a fc450

Hi,
I am new to this site i am looking at buying a fc 450 2004 model
just wondering if there is any known faults or things to check?
and what do people think about this bike?

Good bike, no obvious problems. 4-5 year old race bike might be ready for a freshen up. Rockers, timing chain and tensioner etc..

excellemt bike. reliable and first of the fast and reliable range.

i would say though that the suspension, desppite being called WP - needs to be sorted. if you're from the UK, 'full travel' at bury st. edmunds is good with them and of course they have the knowledge from the KTMs.

we're not much of a MX site here so we don't know how well they run. it was their penultimate year before they dropped them as MX bikes so.....

Well another one new here and looking at an Fc450e but an '02, with a fair number of aftermarket accessories, used for bush riding (no racetrack). Going for an inspection in a couple of days, while I'm on the hunt I'm also going to look at an '02 Fe 501.
The question is which will be the better bike, guess I'll find out when I look at them both.

Hi

If its a 450 it should be 2004 +

If it is, go to the 450 (2004-2008) they don't have a couple of problems that the 01-03 bikes have.

Yes correct, it was a 470. Had a look & a ride but not for me. I'll keep looking, more likely an FE model that's registerable, less drama from the boys in blue. :wink:
