Day 3, 100 miles approx.

Cheeseberger wanted me to check out some of the riding near Gunnison so off we went! The Gunnison area seemed to be more on the desert side of riding than we had experienced the prior two days. You would not believe the blast we had ripping it up side by side on this remote two track! The Bergs were roaring!

We headed to a recreation park south of Gunnison called Hartman Rocks (I think). Fun riding with some technical, rocky sections and even some single track!

On the way back to Cheese's we hit some really cool single track. Colby refered to this as the Julie Andrews trail.

Cheese shows his water crossing finesse at the bottom of Deadman's Gulch. A group of three mountain bikers were impressed. I wasn't! :D

Day 4, approx 50 miles

Here's a decent view of the town of Crested Butte and the mountains beyond.

AWESOME JOB !! Well Logjump is giving you a pretty good look at what awaits in CO. Well boys ? That could be you wheelying up a road at 11,000 + feet don't let Colby have all the fun. Thanks Rick excellent photos

SHHHHH, don't let the secret out.......In addition to the pretty scenery there are plenty of tough trails to mangle your pretty plastics too. You can ride from gunni to all the cb trails if you have a license plate!

Reading the words and looking at the pictures makes me want to pack my stuff and move out of Europe. Why? Easy; it's too crowded. The woods are filled with intolerant people who will grab every opportunity to call the cops and to be honest; most of the time they have the law on their side. Here in Holland it's getting more difficult to find the legal parts of the woods to drive in, and I think Germany, Belgium and France have the same problems. As always a small group of illegal, uninsured, very loud "off-roaders" rip up the woods and create a problem for the legal riders.
I've been in Colorado a few times and yes it would be a first choice for me! I would love to go riding in that fantastic scenery! I'm sure you realize that you guys are soooo lucky!!!!!

Plenty of options. I would recommend camping in the spring creek area to be in the middle of cb/cement creek/taylor park. In gunni there are many motel options and bed and breakfasts for the more refined dirt biker. There are cabins for rent in taylor park that sleep several....I would think gunnison is the cheapest....the koa campground has showers...If I new how to hyper-link I would hook you up, try googling it. peace guys....

ps. I live north of gunni five miles from taylor canyon, my view of closeness might be warped....15 minutes to hartmans, 15 minutes to cement creek area dirt, fossil ridge rec. area out of my yard.
