locked up

Just tried to start my 02 fs650. First kick normal, second kick and it locked up.

I have taken L & R covers off, removed the clutch.
Tried the kick start and it was free.
Tried to turn the crank which also turned but could turn the top-end.

I have removed the rocker cover and am still unable to turn the cam.
I cannot see any missing nuts that could lock the cam chain.

Has anyone any ideas?

intermediate gear on the bottom locked? cam bearing collapsed. come on fella, you are stood there! break that chain and decide if it's top or bottom.

ok camchain tensioner out.
There is a little movement in the cam but the bottom end (intermediate gear?) seems locked.

The law of sod says that the split link in the chain is hidden in the galleries some where :(

The is also a hole in the crankcase that I don't remember seeing before.
see attached

sounds like the balancer has collapsed. split the cases fella
