Like a BOSS

I'd like to second Rick's Hberg knowledge, willingness to help, supply of parts, and ability to put up with the demands of a customer while running a business solo. I was in Portland, Oregon for a meeting in July of 2013 and decided to take my RV and bikes. Rick spent a day setting up my FE390, and he charged me fairly and treated me well. I truly hope that he is able to survive KTM's plans for dropping the Husaberg name and badging KTM's as Husqvarnas. It would be nice if KTM made Husky the up-scale brand, and left KTM to be the Chevrolet of off-roading, but so far I don't understand their plans for Husqvarnaberg. Support Rick at BOSS if you can - he's trying his best to run an old-school dirt bike shop out of the garage behind his home. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic - I bought my first race bike - a 1972 Penton 125 CMF - out of the garage behind Fred's home. That small Penton/Husqvarna shop turned into Freedom Cycle in Kansas City, I believe.

I'm on the Boss bandwagon as well. He's got the kind of shop that made me fall in love with Husaberg to begin with. Like Pat at Subterranean and Dan at Motoxotica, he's got a "hole in the wall" shop with a real enthusiast behind the desk. The motorsports industry no longer appreciates this type of shop.

Now, in the age of the lifestyle rider where an accountant gets his mojo back by investing in his "bad boy" Sons of Apathy jacket and ****** canoe, or going to Starbuck's on his Charlie and Ewan secial to sit on the patio in his Kline suit while sipping a latte, guys like Rick and Marquis like Husaberg find it difficult to make it. Throwing my support every chance I get. Reminds me, I gotta get a parts list together for my build and shoot an email off to Rick!

Rick is the coolest, and put up enough $$$ to order the fist and only run of Clarke oversized tanks for the 2000 to 2008s. I don't know of any other dealer dedicated enough to a small production brand to do something like that. I've ordered many parts from him over the years, and have gotten stellar service. Not to mention he's one hell of a rider!
