Up here in Alberta they are implementing a new law that requires all OHV's to have head and tail lights, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good aftermarket lighting kit for a 1997 FC 501, and if any special electrical work or components are or would be required. Cheers.

oh man thats a good question flyboy one that im deffinetly interested in since i own a 98 FC501 and mostly do the trails type fun. i think if you search the other forums there might be some stuff in here already if not these guys will help out

I think UHE member WAberg has a street legal 1995 FC501 so he could possible give you guys some suggestions.

kzoo thanks i knew i had just seen it somewhere on here. you see flyboy quick responses from these guys

holy crap kelsow do you know anyhting else abou thtis setup thats cheaper than the baja d kit and looks cooler also thanks for the link

My understanding of how these work is that the lighting is LED tech and as such requires very little power.8 amps I believe .I understand the power is taken from the signal pulse going to the CDI unit.Price is in CDN$.
With this system even a YZ250 2 stroke can get a blue plate with no other mods, here in Canada anyway!

im not too worried anymore abou ttring to get on the road i wouldlike to have a headlight tail light though ive been lost a couple times out in the woods and with out a headlight lets just say im glad it was clear and a full moon out other wise i woulve been really screwed

I've got an LED tail light on my berg and like it a lot. 9/10ths of a watt is all it draws and it's super bright. You'll not be sorry about going that route. You're right it looks good too.

It's a factory item available at any dealer I would guess. Nice piece of kit too.

yea i know the dealers have them i was just hoping to find one that didnt strip my wallet like a cat fallin into a pirahna tank so i don thave to wait so long

Thanks for all the help, that kit from Thibault looks nice and the price is right as well. I also see they have a warehouse in Calgary just a couple hours south of me, thanks again. Cheers.
