Light Switch

The light switch on my '02 FE501e appears to have lost all of it's guts. The plastic toggle will spin completely around in there without turning on my lights. I haven't dug into the thing yet but are there any replacement parts available (ie... springs, contacts, etc) that I can get to fix it? or must I buy a whole new switch?

Thanks,
Rob

Being your bike isn't street legal in Ohio, what about a simple on/off switch to make the head/tail lights work ? Something like a toggle or pull switch much like on KTM's which is mounted behind the headlight shell ?

This switch also functions as the kill switch. If I add another switch elsewhere this means more wires in more places. These bergs don't need that.

My Tooma has a seperate kill switch and light switch and I have a brand new kill switch, it's yours if you want it ?
I think the seperate light and kill switches would be more reliable. You've seen how I crash and mine are still working !!!

Rob, call the dealer. I would guess that this switch can't be more than $40. Which is practically nothing, right???

Otherwise, live without the lights, or hardwire them to the ignition somehow.

You could go to a wreckers (breakers, parters etc), get one off a Yamakazuka & make it fit?

Why not put your head light switch in the plastic headlight shell and use a push button switch for your kill switch. Should be able to get a toggle switch for your lights at a auto parts place along with a push button type for the kill switch. It is a idea. Good luck.

I used a DPDT toggle, allows wiring so tailight works on low or hi beam.
