I Just purchased an Airoh terminator helmet and must say this was the best "mod" I've done to date. It weighs just over 2lbs. fits perfect, and doesn't stink. No more bobbie head...equals better overall balance. I'm riding soooo much better.
No more sore neck and shoulders

best price in town...

lazer mx8 the carbon model is also light.
much lighter than my TLD SE helmet and even lighter than my DH MTB helmet.

about 1100g, 2.4lb for a large

Marushin RS-MX 850 grams !!!

Marushin XMR Carver 1050 grams !!

LOVE marushin !! run the Marushin RS2 Carbon 1050 grams as track-helmet

But I run a little heavier off-road helmets acually
Madhead Fiber Mex Light - Night-helmet (fitted with night lights) 1050 grams w/u lights
First Racing G2 - Day-helmet 1280 grams

The lazer carbon mx8 is also very light.
I am a weight weanie But whent for the heavyr shoei vfxw just love the design comfort and fit of the shoei.

thanks for the tips!

FWIW AGV AX-8 DS EVO is reasonably lightweight for a dual-sport helmet ... it's in a heavier class iirc than most of the helmets listed here though. 1450 grams for size medium, 1550 grams in large and up. That's with a visor and everything. (That said I don't think I'll bother with a visored helmet next time, even for "adventure riding" - just goggles. And hence I'll get something like the Terminator.

Airoh stelt senior is also a great helmet, a lot cheaper than terminator/aviator too.
Weights around 950g at medium size.
Also if anyone's wondering, dragon nfx goggles are a tight fit in the stelt but do fit, large and xlarge sizes should be a bit looser. The nfx goggles look trick and kinda make the stelt in to a semi full-visor helmet.

god yes I'm a total sucker for iridescent goggles, it's from my father's flamboyant side of the family

(am not being sarcastic)

I have a Fox carbon fiber pro weighs 2 1/2 lbs aprox which is
heaver than the OS version I believe because here in Australia
we have to have thicker shell because our skulls are thinner
than elsewhere.:)
Making our whole helmet market regulated so that unless it passes
the Australian standards an has the sticker on it you are not riding
with an approved helmet.
Airhoh look great but in the land of the thin skulls are not allowed,
unfortunately as that would have been My first choice.

From reading up on deaths
from M/C accidents involving head injuries, most occur from
intrusions through the visor area in hitting the roof-line of a car
of amco barrier etc, nothing to do with the actual penetration
of the shell of the helmet. Conclusion is someone is protecting an overinflated
price market here in Australia for helmets.

MX style helmets are bad in that the extended chin guard
tends to cause more fractures of the skull base I think they call it a ring fracture,
This is a problem with all full face helmets so an open face is less likely to
break your neck but you have other consequences unfortunately not pretty.

A lighter helmet is always going to be a benefit in that it will put less strain
on the neck/skull in an accident so weight is very important IMO.
