length of race tech front fork springs?

I got some 4.6 wt race tech springs to replace my standard springs on the 2008 berg. They are apparently the right springs for the bike. I notice that the race tech springs are 3cm longer than the standard WP springs. Has anyone else noticed this? This will clearly affect the preload.

Clearly installing stiffer springs will affect the preload even more, so no need to spend any time worrying.

The fork spring preload is adjusted from the factory with different length spacers on each side due to manufacturing tolerance, so slight variation in spring lengths are normal.

Install them, see where you're at and adjust the preload by reducing or adding to the factory preload spacers to where you want it to be. Do the 2008 have adjustable preload caps? If so, that makes it real easy.
