Hi guys just want to let you all know how awesome this years Hattah Desert Race was.

Our local boy Warren Smart won it outright.

Winning the Prologue and the Race as well as leading for every lap.

The reason this is so legendary is that it saw Warren competing against many of Australias best desert and enduro riders, such as AJ Roberts, Ben Grabham, Brad Willscroft, Craig Carmichael, Matt Fish, Ben Kearney, Peter Boyle, Ryan Branford, just to name a few. While on a complete stock bike with the only mod being suspension. :)

Hattah is being known for one of Australias hardest desert races........

No one was able to ride the track months or weeks before unlike Finke.

Well done Smarty you are a true LEGEND.

This will be remembered for a lifetime.

They were blaming the fact that Grabham was sick prior to the race, but I think he was just sick of trying to catch Smart  .

A good race to attend as always. :)

I just got home after racing Hattah on the weekend. That is an awesome event and Smarty's win was phenomenal against that competition.
I rode my o8 Berg 550 and it was fantastic. I was the only Berg there and finished 10th in the over 450 class from 23 starters including Wonka, Jehi Willis, Matt Fish and MX racer Craig Carmichael. Carmichael was second in the prologue by 10 secs but didn't finish the race. Wonka did a head gasket.
Smart did not just beat our best off-road riders he destroyed them. To beat Grabbo in the prologue by 13 seconds was a huge effort, but he then put in lap after lap of brilliant sand riding and had a run-away win. He had lapped the entire field almost upto Ben Kearney and was only 3 mins from catching him. And Ben is very fast. That's on a 36 km lap.

That is a hard race. The hardest i have done including 4 Aust 4 day enduros, Condo 750, national off rd series, NSW enduros. I was sore afterwards, very sore, and I didn't even crash, although several near misses saved by the Berg. Sore back, sore glutes, sore neck, sore arms, sore hands, sore shoulders. 4 hours flat out and the track gets torn up; rough and wooped.
I'll be back next year and will be in over forties for a bit less competition.
