I don`t know if this will apply to your fork or not but it is worth a try. With the front end off the ground remove the front wheel and then check to see if the fork leg moves in and out(won`t be much)if it does your problem is a bushing is worn or in my case in backwards  .I redid my left fork leg on my 96 FE501 Husaberg today.I had the movement(back and forth,a rocking)and after I got done no movement. The fork seal was good but with all the wiggling around it couldn`t help but leak.Worth a check. The right fork leg has not leaked as long as I have owned my bike.Hope this helps and good luck.

Don't know if this applies to your bike. I had a bike (TT?) where the fork outer tube got worn where the guide pushes in so that even with a good guide the fork still leaked. I think I made a shim to go in between the guide & leg tube to tighten it up & it worked OK.

no the bike is far from having any thing that is worn out it still has its origanal chain and rear sprocket and it starteed to leak when it was stored under a tarp in the garage :(

leaking seal

Hi there 44014,If you are confidant that the fork bushing is still a good fit, then the most reasonable conclusion is that the seal is damaged. This could be from damage during its installation or from a scratch or dent or other damage to the tube in the area of the seals traval on the tube.Check the tube carefully, smooth any problem spots with crankshaft polishing cloth, replace the seal.....good luck....nsman......

This is just a guess but does the temperature rise and fall where you have your bike stored?Try this loosen the bleeder screws on top of the forks and clean where it has leaked before.Check the forks every so often for leaks. It might be that your forks might be building pressure and causing them to leak.Might work might not- worth a try.Could also try raising the front end off the ground to take the pressure off. Good luck.

bill you may be on to somthing there on a hot day if i crack the bleed valve it will release some pressure  does any one know if it is ok to store your bike with the bleeder valve undone a bit ..

I don`t think it would hurt anything.I have run my forks where they vent all the time and it does not seem to hurt anything. The main thing would be to make sure nothing gets in your forks. When the screws are turned to bleed off the pressure they are not taken all the way out,so I think it would be alright.

Keep an eye out for wasps & hornets! The little buggers built a nest inside (couldn't see it from outside) the swich console of the jetski & locked it up with mud & larvae.
