Taffy read you used Dot 5.1 on a LHRB how did that work out? Any negatives?

it was fine. i put the clutch to brake kit in the M/C and I could have used 4 or 5.1.

I seem to remember using 5.0 but in the end I just had to convert the MC to a brake kit and then it didn't matter as long as I didn't use Mineral Oil still.

the other thing to remember if you go between mineral oil and brake fluid is that the brake fluid mixes with the mineral oil and acts as a glue. in between rides, the inside of the brake hose closes and would you believe that pulling the brake lever hard will not open the pipe up again.

new brake pipe needed. that was how i got introduced to Rob Foden here in the UK at the old ScX. he had nothing and had been palying around with it for weeks and ruining his season.

one new hose, a conversion kit, DOT 5.1 and off he went. I've been sponsoring him ever since even though he went to a KTM two seasons ago.

Be buggered if i can get the rear to lock up now. Actually it is quite lame by foot.

Theres nothing more i can do!

Bleed back and forth between syringes. Geez!
Alan did You make sure that there’s no place for air to be trapped. The other thing I did (don’t know If helped) was work the brake with the valve open I could see the syringe moving as I pump. DID IS FIRST. What I did with foot brake was pump it 3 times holed it down open the bleed valve and close. Did it 3 times foot can lock up rear wheel easy now. Last option would be get a bleeding kit from an auto shop or maybe have someone to see what maybe wrong.

Ill keep at it mate. Dont really have an option.

I had the bike laying at a 30* angle over night which prevented any part of the system having a high spot. I noticed with the syringes if there was air in there the bubbles would travel even down so i assumed (i know!) the air would shift out.

Ill clean the pads incase i got brakefluid on those then do some more bleeding. Syringes at both ends is a good idea. I do have a vacuum bleeder somewhere.

Ill keep at it.

When I did my bike it was upright. took off the lever from the bars and hung it from rafters along with the syringes to make sure everything was upright letting gravity do some of the work. Massage me with an email and I can send you pic of what I did....

The bike was on an angle to get all sections of hose with no section having a high point. Yeah i hung the hand master.

Alan Went on a couple of rides focused on rear brake. foot pedal easy to lock up if I need to LHRB works well but not great (can’t lock it up at medium speed) but I do like it and no chattering so I do slow down really good. I have to adjust to it.

Yeah i tried a rebleed again. No luck. Very poor braking. I wonder if its because the master is 14mm. Im sussing out MTB radial masters. Maybe the cheap hydraulic line? I couldnt imagine as it is a braid. For the life of me i couldnt imagine there could be any air in the system. I cant get any more air out of the hand master.

A good way to see If there’s any air in the system pump the brake fast a few time then holed it down see were the brake is.... then let go if it goes down more then before you have air in the system. Other thing is what brake lever are You using? Forget it I looked back at 1 of your pics.

What i did was is do the syringe either end and bleed back and forth pushing, not drawing as this sucks in air. Once down i do the pump, hold, back off bleeder. No air. Hard lever and pedal. No difference in height.

I dunno mate. Ill keep at it.

Maybe clean out all parts of the system could have dirt in there some were? The only thing left would be to rebuild the masters and slave what about the lines? On the cap for foot master is there blatter in there? mine doesn’t have one?

the earlier berg is a 13mm rear. drill a new hole for the clevis pin. drill it further back so that there's more piston travel to your foot ratio. that's why they leave plenty of metal behind the present clevis pin hole Rainerio.
