LED Turn Signals

I purchased DRC MOTOLED 602 Signals. 12Volt with Orange Lends

So I unplugged the current signals and plugged these ones in, from what I was told is that they would flash very fast. But these are doing nothing. Plug in the old ones they work fine, LEDs not working at all.

The only signals which use a bulb have a black/white-Line Wire I am sure that is the ground, so the black goes into that one, and red the other I presume.

The only differance is I had to wire new terminals onto the LEDs that had been slightly large but with some extra force they seem to go in, not all the way however, but it should be enough.

They Look like this. Here they are http://www.drcproducts.com/elect/D45-60-207/index.html

If I am right....... LED's are polarity sensative, otherwise they won't work.

Make sure you've got the positive wire on the lights going to the positive wire on the bike.

Usually what happens with LED's is that they won't flash, they just stay on, as there is not enough current to make the flasher work and you need a special flasher unit to make this right.

I switched this around and now it is working, doesnt seem right as the old ones work on postive going to negative vice versa.

Well we are not out of the forest yet as they say, and Ive read about this.

I hooked up the rear signals no probalem at all.

I try to hook up the front right signal and when the right signal is on it flashes faster the normal, which is ok. But if I turn on the left signal I get four way flashers. So as of now Ive decided to leave it as is, and will try to solve this later.

Now earlier today I went to a parts store and tried to get a LED flasher, showed them my current flasher and got nowhere.

Went to a smaller racers parts store for bikes, and they have this RUMBLE pack thing that was white metal encased in somesorta thing with wires coming out of it, and it was 35 dollers apparently you needed one for each pair of signals so I declined. Hmmm....

Your left turn signals, front and rear should have purple wire and a brown. Your right turn signals should have a black and a brown.

Your flasher switch should connect the Orange to the purple for left, and Orange to black for right.

There is no 4 way flasher, so it sounds like you've got some thing crossed some where.

Its called a simple resistor and you don't have to pay $35 for them. Some googling and you will find some circuitry and explanations, but the basic idea is that the LEDs don't draw enough current, so the system thinks the bulb is out, putting a resistor in the circuit helps.

I have LED rears on my Ducky, and that made everything flash faster. I suspect I will have similar problems as you are having if I replace my fronts too.

The reason the LEDs only worked one way is that they are a diode (Light Emitting Diode) and they only let current flow in one direction.

I know DRC has some sorta of resistor you can get with 3 wires attached to it, also they have what are called resistor wires, but if you use them your still drawing the same amount of power.

I think the best is to get a LED Flasher but I do not know of one.
