Leaking fork

Hello there . . .

I also have a leaking problem with one of my forks. The right fork of my brand new 470 (model 2002) is leaking quite heavily.

However, reading the other postings om this problem, I don't really understand how to fix the problem. Maybe someone can give me some good tips/instructions on what I can try to do?

Thanks in advance!

try pulling the dust cap back and out the way. next i spray a little WD40 to get some lubrication around the seal. finally try and run a .002" feeler guage up the leg between the seal and the leg.

work the feeler guage around the leg trying to 'flick down' as you go so that you flick muck down and out.

in my experience there are seals that leak and there are others that don't so next time try a different seal manufacturer. i went to K-Tech in the UK and i haven't pulled the dust caps back or had a leak in two years.

Thanks Taffy!

One more question though. By 'dust cap' do you mean the blue plastic covers on the fork-legs or the black rubber rings around the fork-leg?

Greetz,
Jeroen
