I have a similar question.
I have a 2004 FE 450 with very small headers.
I saw that FC 450 has a very large diameter pipes. Almost as 550/650.
Can I install the pipes from the 650? At the same time I would like to install FCR41.
On the street I am really missing power at medium and high rpm.
It would be best to buy used from the FC450 but it is rather impossible.

u can use headers from 650, but u would have to bend them a little, otherwise the middle pipe would not fit into frame. i you have pair of well used ones do it, but I have new ones and I do hesitate to bend them. one third of akrapovics succes is larger diameter pipes compared to originals. second is straight muffler inside and thrd part is titanium.

i would say 'no' to the 650 headers. the 650 headers drop down and around, the 450 just go around.
so the 650 headers want to go down, around and into the left cover.
get a jetting kit, cone air filter, DVSK. they will all help. the exhaust ports are a big restriction.

you have write with that headers
I have dvsk.
I have done porting.
I'm not a big fan K&N and DNA air filters. They may have a better flow but do they clean the air also good?
New better needle is my next step.
