KTM Triple Clamps

The answer is somewhere in the forum, Taffy did that. He calls them not triple clamps but yokes, good to know if you want to do a search. He may have included it in "Owners Doc".

taffy,
you know i'm quite slow. i am trying to wrap my little mine around this issue.
so you are saying that the ktm triple and stem can be used on a 'berg with the original
ktm bottom bearing with the existing husaberg race. also the top bearing
needs to be replaced with a ktm bearing which you stated as....
post = 29mm
inner race = L45449
seal bottom is a KTM part
seal top is on it's way to me
outer cup = L45410

where the actual bearing is the inner race = L45449
so with this ktm bearing the triples will fit, provided of course that there is
the correct nut on the top of the stem and provided that the preload/adjustment
is done properly.
please advise.
thanks
tuts

evening tuts

i'm not going through the numbers here as i've just got home from the pub and that would be silly wouldn't it!

but, yes the ktm clamps and bearins go straight in. i seem to remember needing to make a very small washer so that the crown nut didn't bottom out on the bottom of the threads. you know, we've all done it!h you turn down a nut and the nut hits the bottom of the thread a so nothing can tighten.

IF and only IF you're trying to save a few pennies; well the bottom husaberg bearing and outer cup fit straight on the ktm stuff. but at the top the husabergs roller bearing is for the 25mm post. so you need essentially to get a new bearing just for the top.

Strange how that makes complete sense with no butchered English? You are much easier to understand when about 1/2 knackered! 8O :D
