I have decided to upgrade to 06/08 tank on my fs650 04 to put a fan on bike , does anyone know if the KTM fan kit part #59035041044 will be ok these seem to be far cheaper than the husaberg ones listed on ebay ect. I will not be using thermostat (switch will be fine) not sure if wire conections are the same as husaberg anyone used this kit?

I have a 570 and got the KTM fan for it. I checked my brothers KTM 620 95 and it was the same and would of fit. There was no difference from 95 too 2011. Now thats a part saving. So not having a 650 I would be surprised if it didnt fit? Even the wires were the same with mine. I hope this helps.

The fan listed is what KTM?Husaberg use but with aussie dollar so high you can get kit for $120aus with everything thats hard to beat. Did look at doing it the way you sugested Bonegraph. I am also running a vapor and going to be using a manual switch to turn on and off.

Unless your rad doesn't have a bung for the thermo-sensor, why on earth would you want to install a fan without the thermo-sensor?? Installing an on/off switch to turn the fan on when the engine gets hot just doesn't cut it in my opinion.

I'm just waiting parts to implement fan on my FE501 2003, I tink that complete solution will be mush cheaper than that one from Bonecraft, but it's true, the fan don't have so god IP protection, becouse is a fan for regular use in electrical cabinets etc.
Complete solution will be about 50E.
Fans you can find on http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/...294530414+4294907051+4294907071&binCount=1096,
where you can also find and termo-switches http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/...4207 4294953993&selectAttribute=RS#breadCrumb
witch I will connect with quality glue on radiator.

I will post pict after I finish it.

Regards

Chas Mines a motard so thats why i dont really want a thermostat (plus my doesnt have a hole for one) The only time its gets hot is if i sit in traffic on the way to the city my vapor alarm light goes off and you flick the switch easy.

even my don't have so that's why I'm taking this termo switches, they are for surface connection.

Are our bikes dc on fan???? The thermo listed says -(The contacts are NOT silver plated and are unsuitable for use with low current dc applications)
Any thoughts?

The one I linked to is 12VDC. I just ran the earth wire to ground and have the switch on the positive run to the fused side of the main fuse block.
I have no idea what the computor fans linked are, but I don't see how they will live long in a dirty, wet environment anyway........
