I was rather apprehensive entering the track day as Killarney is a longish circuit with only a few tight bends.
My main concern was the back and front straights where super bikes easily hit the 260kph mark. I decided to take it easy on them and just play catch up in the bends.
I entered into the medium class as I though I had a bit more experience and that the slow class was going to be completely to slow for me. Little did I know that the slow and medium class comprised of mainly of S1000RR, Zx10R' CBR1000RR's and a couple of Ducati 1198's. It was clear to me, that being the only Super moto there, I was out gunned and I was up for a big bully session.
The fast class, was stupidly quick, these guys have balls the size of minivans... so much late braking I got nervous watching them. Eventually they finished and we we're up.
The 1st two laps I took it easy warming up tires and brakes.... I made the mistake of going into the turn on the main straight waaaaay too fast expecting more engine breaking and ran wide, but after that it was on. I was hunting superbikes! Each full fairing thing that past me on the main straight was my next target, passing them mostly all on the outside.
I really enjoyed it, but even with my stupidly tall gearing, the straights are too long.
