I no there has been loads of topics on how to, ive read and read and just cant get it think its me and not the bike  ive had it several weeks now and ridden it once  and that once i stopped it a bit away from home and couldnt restart it gutted i was.

Heres what im doing could someone please tell me if im doing it right as i dont think im getting TDC,

Right :) im kicking down slowly until im feeling the tension yeah then it feels to click :? then it feels to do another little click which im pressuming is TDC as ive had it running before, on the 2nd click i bring the lever back up to auto de-compress then give a good kick and the bugger kicks back and pops and tends to hurt too 8O does this sound to be about right i aint using the lever on the bars as not sure exactly how too,

Any help is appreciated

Phil.

Try pushing with kickstart until you feel it get tight, (coming up on compression), pull comp. release & push down enough to go past tdc, then bring kickstart back up & KICK. Works on mine, starts first kick, I usually pull comp. release & kick through several times before starting.

Hi Phil,
If you have an early model 650 it will still have a kick-start activated de-comp cable. Remove said cable as such will make finding TDC compression much easier and overall aid in starting.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Dale
